The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
ARK first opened its doors in 1998 and its space welcomed traveling and street-involved youth from across Canada. During that period of time, hundreds of youth found and created a vital, safe, and thriving community. ARK’s foundation is built on the belief that together, we create a place to call home.
These days, we walk alongside families and individuals, building relationships that allow us to provide support with systems and navigate resources. ARK fosters a community where members and their voices are respected and celebrated.
ARK offers:
• Direction through legal situations, health & dental care, addiction & mental health services, education, employment, and housing.
• Assistance in accessing emergency shelters, finding long-term housing and tangible support with new accommodations.
• Mentorship opportunities and possibilities for groups to get involved.
• Support through the court system and correctional facilities.
• A weekly meal for 40 community members.
• Advocating for affordable housing, alongside others in the community.
We are also committed to networking with other outreach groups, including those that are both regional and national. In light of these relationships, ARK would like to highlight a longtime community partner.
Brunswick Street Mission is a small team doing amazing work in the HRM. This year, ARK will offer a portion of what we raise through Coldest Night of the Year to the mission.
On Saturday, February 28th, 2026, come together with ARK for the Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk.
Thank you all for your continued care and partnership!
