The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
In Midland, United Way Simcoe Muskoka’s Urgent Needs Fund and Home Relief Bank provide essential, early supports that help individuals and families stay safely housed. Through micro-grants for groceries, medication, and unexpected expenses, and interest-free loans for those struggling to meet rent or mortgage payments, we ensure that people facing hunger, hurt, or homelessness aren’t left behind. These upstream supports protect dignity, restore stability, and prevent homelessness before it begins.
Join us on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, for the Coldest Night of the Year and help ensure these vital programs continue supporting our vulnerable neighbours.
The Guesthouse Shelter and Community Hub (TGHS), through the Coldest Night of the Year fundraising campaign, wants to engage our community and raise funds to help those experiencing homelessness and raise awareness about the many issues to address and resolve the problem in our community.
TGHS is dedicated to providing food and shelter in a safe environment within North Simcoe that cares for those in physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual need. We strive to encourage understanding of the needs in our community regarding fundamental human rights to food and shelter. It is our goal that no one in North Simcoe County will be homeless.
