The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
Ottawa Intercity Ministries (OIM) walks alongside people experiencing poverty and homelessness in downtown Ottawa. Since 1988, OIM staff and front-line volunteers have made sure our cold, hungry, hurting, and isolated street friends receive not only warm clothing and food but also companionship and care without judgment.
In 2025, we made over 33,000 street connections (approximately 1,200 of whom were youth), giving out more than 33,000 sandwiches and 37,000 snacks such as granola bars and bear paws. In total, we sent more than 500 outreach teams to help meet the needs of our street friends.
We support our street friends through various programs: Street Outreach, Door Outreach, Innercity Veterans Outreach and Support (IVOS), Innercity Arts, English as a Second Language (ESL) class, and a new Friday Fellowship. These initiatives help those in need, showing the message of Christ in both words and actions.
Join us on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, to walk and fundraise with us on the Coldest Night of the Year. By supporting OIM, you help our city’s most vulnerable people. It doesn’t take a lot to make a difference.
